The Story: Subject to Change Wine Co. exists as a canvas for exploring time and place in Northern California. The winery was founded in 2017 by Alex Pomerantz–inspired by a true love for the intersection of California’s unique agricultural landscape, natural wine, and the many people and experiences that come along with those arenas. Over the years our team has grown, and with the help of Jonathan Walton, Kelsey Freeman, Natalia Kaminski and Dominique Henderson, our company has continued to grow, adapt, progress and improve winemaking and viticultural practices vintage after vintage. Bringing together wines from a number of producers and locations, they emphasize variety, quality and a deep sense of values.
60-year-old, dry-farmed, head-trained Deanda Vineyard is organically farmed by Sarah Deanda in the Redwood Valley. Her Chenin Blanc, which dates back to the 1960s, was grafted onto Carignan rootstock, and the seven acres under vine take character from the sandy clay loam soils.
Why You'll Love Me: Elegant yet earthy aromas of wisteria, with a lithe, medium body showing hints of pomelo and Asian pear blossom. This skin contact wine is a brilliant example of the approach and reveals the nuanced character of vines.
