The story: Subject to Change Wine Co. exists as a canvas for exploring time and place in Northern California. The winery was founded in 2017 by Alex Pomerantz–inspired by a true love for the intersection of California’s unique agricultural landscape, natural wine, and the many people and experiences that come along with those arenas. Over the years our team has grown, and with the help of Jonathan Walton, Kelsey Freeman, Natalia Kaminski and Dominique Henderson, our company has continued to grow, adapt, progress and improve winemaking and viticultural practices vintage after vintage. Bringing together wines from a number of producers and locations, they emphasize variety, quality and a deep sense of values.
Piquette is made by rehydrating the grape pomace (solids off of which the wine is pressed including skins and often stems) re-extracting the sugar, flavor and texture. The result is a very light and low-in-alcohol wine - think of it like the second steeping of tea - lighter but with many of the same flavors.
Why You'll Love Me: Light and lively, serve this fun, fruity and lightly carbonated red blend with a chill and enjoy any time! Look for raspberry, cranberry and French bread on the nose, with a softy, slightly dusty mouthfeel. It’s dry and structured with some nice earthy notes and an off-dry finish reminiscent of heirloom apples.
