The Story: Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo is a place of extreme beauty in the heart of Douro valley and owned by Amorim family since 1999. The family connection to the wine comes from afar, making their dream come true. The project is now in the hands of the fourth generation of the family on a parcel of land that has been producing wine since the mid-18th century, using some of the same traditional methods. Indeed, at Quinta Nova the harvest is done by hand, with the grapes hand- selected with respect to their natural maturation in with the aim of achieving a perfect balance between structure and aroma thus creating fine and elegant wines, strong in character and fresh.
Why You’ll Love Me: Look for an attractive aroma of nectarine, white flowers and apricots combined with a bit of white pepper and gooseberry. The palate is balanced with a fresh, fruity character, dense and concentrated with good complexity, structure
and weight, rolling in to a lean, mineral-driven finish.
