The Story: Maison Brotte was officially created in 1931 when Charles Brotte (2nd generation), freshly graduated from a business school in Marseille, decided to set up his own company in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. “Maison Brotte” began to sell a wide range of Rhône Valley wines and became one of the pioneers in this activity. Today, Laurent Brotte and his wife Christine represent the fourth generation after they took over the family business in 2001. Together, they improved the winemaking methods, developed the vineyards and further enhanced the quality of the wines while building the reputation of the Brotte name around the world. 2015 would even saw the arrival of the 5th generation at the domaine: Thibault and Benoît started working alongside their parents and are providing the company with fresh ideas and energy. Today, three generations are working together to develop the Brotte business.
Why You'll Love Me: Very complex and discreet. Look for a nose fresh with minerality and citrus, as well as hints of peach, pears and ripe mango. Secondary aromas include floral touches of jasmine and rose just a bit of gunflint. Fresh and balanced between roundness and acidity, it is equal parts citrus and minerality, with the palate becoming rounder and more elegant with age.
