I am from: Napa Valley, California, USA (Sourced primarily from select cool-climate vineyards within the Oak Knoll AVA)
The Story: Logan Farrell is the brilliant creation of wine entrepreneur Mike O’Connell—the mastermind behind wildly successful, value-driven labels like Block Nine and Grayson Cellars—and veteran winemaker Larry Levin (who has shaped iconic estates like Turnbull and Quintessa). Together, they focus exclusively on making Napa Valley’s premium heritage approachable and budget-friendly. The secret to this Chardonnay's exceptional balance is its roots in the Oak Knoll District. Located at the southern, cooler end of the valley, the vineyard benefits from the chilly morning fog rolling off San Pablo Bay. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel to retain their zesty, natural punch, followed by partial malolactic fermentation in a mix of tanks and French oak barrels. It is then aged for 9 months in predominantly seasoned French oak casks, giving it just a gentle touch of luxury without smothering the crisp fruit.
Why You'll Love Me: It is a beautiful, modern New World Chardonnay that perfectly walks the line between creamy richness and vibrant freshness. It pours a luminous, bright straw-yellow color in the glass. The nose immediately bursts with an inviting bouquet of fresh pineapple, yellow peach, and Bosc pear, beautifully intertwined with notes of lemon blossom, vanilla bean, and a soft hint of butterscotch. On the palate, it delivers a medium-to-full body with a satisfyingly smooth, velvety texture. Instead of feeling heavy or flabby, a lively thread of apple-skin acidity cuts beautifully through the richness, coasting into a long, polished finish accented by toasted almond and a delicate whisper of sweet wood spice.
