The Story
I come from Saint-Bris, a small and fascinating corner of Burgundy where Sauvignon Blanc — rather than Chardonnay — takes center stage. At Domaine Goisot, the vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically, reflecting a deep respect for the land and its rhythms. My name, Exogyra-Virgula, refers to the ancient fossilized oysters found in the limestone soils here — a reminder that this landscape was once covered by the sea. Those same mineral-rich soils now shape my crisp, energetic character and unmistakable sense of place.
Why You’ll Love Me
I open with aromas of citrus zest, green apple, and delicate white flowers, layered with a gentle flinty note. On the palate, I’m vibrant and precise, offering bright flavors of lemon, grapefruit, and fresh herbs supported by lively acidity. A distinct mineral thread runs through my finish, leaving a clean and refreshing impression. I’m lively, elegant, and wonderfully expressive — a Sauvignon Blanc with a Burgundian soul.
