The Story: Based in the village of Urville, the historic Drappier family has been crafting wine since 1808. They are true pioneers in the region, famously known for their unwavering dedication to Pinot Noir, deeply eco-friendly farming (they are a carbon-neutral estate), and an incredibly low-intervention approach in the cellar that includes the very minimal use of sulfites. Fun fact: it was the famous favorite Champagne of Charles de Gaulle!
Why You'll Love Me: It delivers a wonderfully rich, powerful, and expressive style of Champagne. Driven by its high percentage of dark-skinned grapes, it opens with generous aromas of crisp vine peach, quince, and subtle crushed red berries, layered with a hint of warm baking spice. It is full-bodied and beautifully vinous on the palate, yet perfectly lifted by a crisp, elegant acidity on the finish.
