Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Selection Saint-Joseph 'Offerus'

Saint-Joseph is a massive and sprawling appellation, but Jean-Louis is incredibly meticulous. He sources this Syrah strictly from rugged, granite-dominant hillsides in the southern part of the region, specifically from the villages of Mauves and Saint-Jean-de-Muzols. The result is a textbook Northern Rhône Syrah that hits way above its weight class.

In the glass, it is deeply concentrated and immensely aromatic. It jumps out with intense notes of crushed blackberry, dark plum, cracked black pepper, and a signature savory hit of olive tapenade. Because it is grown on pure granite, the palate has a bright, lifting acidity and firm but polished tannins that make it incredibly versatile at the dinner table. It is the perfect pairing for roasted lamb, a heavy steak, or a hearty winter stew.
