I am from: Chablis, Burgundy, France
The Story: Sourced from rolling, sun-lit vineyards in the northernmost stretches of Burgundy, this wine is also known by its family name, Pierre Vignecourt. In this cool-climate region, Chardonnay takes on a completely different identity compared to its buttery, oaky counterparts elsewhere. The magic lies under the surface in the region's hallmark Kimmeridgian limestone soils—an ancient seabed packed with fossilized oyster shells. The winemakers employ a traditional, non-interventionist approach, fermenting entirely in stainless steel vats to keep the fruit raw and electric, while allowing the wine to rest on its fine lees to naturally build texture without any heavy wood masking its origins.
Why You'll Love Me: It is precise, crisp, and effortlessly refined. It pours a beautiful pale straw color with green glimmers, welcoming you with bright, zesty aromas of green apple, crunchy pear, lemon peel, and a delicate whisper of white flowers. On the palate, it hits with a clean, laser-focused core of tart citrus balanced by a beautifully supple texture. Everything moves seamlessly into a long, refreshing finish defined by a steely, flinty backbone and a mouthwatering hint of saline minerality.
