The Story: Located at the gates of Bordeaux, Château Malartic Lagravière, a Classified Growth of Graves, is located on the oldest wine-growing terroir in Bordeaux, considered to be the most beautiful gravel “croupe” (hillock), formed millions of years ago by alluvial deposits. Protected by the pine trees of the Landes forest, the vineyard of Château Malartic-Lagravière is mainly located on the most beautiful hillside of Graves, dominated by gravel soils composed of fine gravel, mixed with shell limestone and clay Run by the Bonnie family, this estate values both its heritage and a forward-thinking approach, having recently been certified HVE-3.
Why You'll Love Me: A very well-defined bouquet, delivering almost Burgundy-like citrus fruit mixed with apricot, citrus lemon and crushed stone. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity that cuts through intense notes of citrus peel, lychee and chamomile. Great energy here, and it fans out gloriously toward the finish; sophisticated and quite delicious
