The story: A former vineyard manager for La Rioja Alta, Pedro Peciña started his estate in 1992, and started producing aged wines with the 1996 vintage. From the start, the estate has worked their vineyards as naturally as possible, and has championed traditional winemaking with extended aging in used American oak barrels and regular rackings every 6 months.
Why You'll Love Me: Fruit-forwardon the nose, this young Tempranillo is deliciously refreshing. Pedro Peciña makes this wine in a traditional unoaked style, destemming the grapes before fermentation. It's a lot of wine for the price, made from Tempranillo with 5% Garnacha and Graciano and oozing plum and black cherry flavors. Wonderfully vibrant, sappy and alive!
