Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon
I am from: Sonoma County, California
The story: Established by Sandra MacIver, Matanzas Creek is located in the remote, but breathtakingly beautiful Bennett Valley region of Sonoma County. Since its launch in 1977, the winery has built its reputation on Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot – two varieties that thrive in Sonoma’s temperate climate. In the intervening years, their approach has never wavered in crafting carefully-balanced wines. Today, all Matanzas Creek Winery estate vineyards are sustainably farmed and are certified under the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance.
Why You'll Love Me: Aromas of honeydew melon, white peach and guava are met with key lime blossom and nectarine on the palate. Medium-to-light in body, this wine is well-balanced and shows a bright acidity.
