The Story: Founded in Beaune in 1750, Bouchard Aîné & Fils is one of Burgundy's oldest and most historic winemaking houses. For over two and a half centuries, they have perfected the art of the négociant—carefully selecting and blending fruit from top-tier grower partners across the region. This particular Bourgogne Rouge sources its Pinot Noir from prized pockets across the Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, and Mâconnais, crafting an elegant, classic introduction to the region’s legendary terroir.
Why You'll Love Me: It is light, elegant, and beautifully Old World in style. In the glass, it shows off a lovely, transparent ruby color, opening with fine, subtle aromas of wild raspberry, tart sour cherry, and small black fruits, all layered over a touch of classic Burgundian forest floor and soft earthiness. On the palate, it is light-to-medium-bodied, wonderfully fresh, and driven by a bright acidity and supple, fine tannins that absolutely sing when paired with food.
