Bodegas Olivares 2021 Altos de la Hoya Jumilla Monastrell Ungrafted Old Vines
$18.00
Pairs with: Estofados
Good for: A convivial evening with good food
Grape: Monastrell
I am from: Jumilla, Spain
The Story: This subtly versatile Monastrell is sourced from a 60 hectare vineyard of ungrafted vines, many of which were planted in 1872. The vineyard is referred to as Finca Hoya de Santa Ana and this bottling, using native yeast, comes from the best parcel and the highest point hence the name Altos de la Hoya "highest from La Hoya".
Why You'll Love Me: Pours a deep ruby. On the nose, look for ripe, powerful aromas of red and black fruit, minerality and spice. The finish is fresh and long, with a lingering character of dark fruit.
