The Story: Born from a passion to reclaim Boston’s lost pre-Prohibition glory days as a center of spirit production, this exceptionally unique expression is a benchmark producer from Bully Boy Distillers—the city’s very first craft distillery since the 1920s. Massachusetts is legendary because it holds some of America's most fiercely independent, historic craft heritage. Disregarding the rigid traditional whiskey regulations that force a spirit to be categorized entirely as a sweet bourbon or a dry rye, founders Dave and Will Willis set out to create a perfect, harmonious middle ground. They meticulously craft this American Straight Whiskey utilizing a highly unconventional mash bill of 45% corn, 45% rye, and 10% malted barley. Because neither the corn nor the rye hits the legally required 51% majority, it intentionally defies strict categorization. Aged gracefully in heavily charred, 53-gallon new American oak barrels, it captures a masterful harmony of sweet corn richness and rugged, spicy New England whiskey craftsmanship.
