The Story: While the legendary Willi Bründlmayer makes a famous rosé nearby, this particular bottle is crafted by the boutique family estate of Josef & Philipp Bründlmayer. Philipp took the reins from his father Josef, who built the winery from scratch in 1980. Meticulously farming the region's rich, terraced loess soils without chemical fertilizers or weedkillers, Philipp hand-harvests and vinifies each vineyard parcel separately to capture the pure, honest character of Austrian terroir.
Why You'll Love Me: It is light, bone-dry, and delightfully zippy. You will find a gorgeous pale pink color in the glass, bursting with delicate aromas of fresh meadow herbs, wild strawberries, tart red cherries, and a touch of lime zest. It is incredibly light-footed on the palate, driven by a crisp, taut acidity and a subtle, mouthwatering hint of white pepper and salty minerality on the finish.
