FROM THE EMAIL OFFER:

If you know me, you know I am always on the hunt for a good "cheat code" in the wine world. I love finding those rare bottles that give you world-class pedigree and terroir without the astronomical price tag. Which is why I am so excited to share an absolute gem from Bordeaux that fits that description perfectly.

When you hear the name Château Cheval Blanc, you are talking about one of the most prestigious, legendary, and expensive wine estates on the planet. For over 35 years, the man responsible for crafting those legendary 100-point wines was cellar master Thierry Garnaud. When Thierry recently "retired," he didn't actually stop making wine. Instead, he took his immense talents just a few miles down the road to a sleepy, under-the-radar estate: Château Canon-Chaigneau.

Located in Lalande-de-Pomerol, the neighboring appellation just a stone's throw away from the famous plateau of Pomerol, Canon-Chaigneau shares much of the same incredible iron-rich clay and limestone soils that make Right Bank Bordeaux so special. With Thierry at the helm, this estate is quietly producing wines of mind-boggling quality that remain one of the best-kept secrets in France.

2018 Château Canon-Chaigneau ($250 per 6-pack)

We are offering this as a 6-pack because, trust me, you are going to want more than one bottle of this in your cellar. Breaking down to just under $42 a bottle, the value here is simply off the charts.

The 2018 vintage was spectacular in Bordeaux, and this wine is in an incredibly beautiful drinking window right now. It is a classic Right Bank blend dominated by plush, velvety Merlot, backed by the structure and spice of Cabernet Franc and a splash of Malbec.

In the glass, it is deeply aromatic, jumping out with notes of dark plum, black cherry, wild truffle, and a gorgeous signature dusting of cocoa powder. On the palate, Thierry’s masterful touch is obvious. It is rich and decadent but incredibly elegant, with silky, melt-in-your-mouth tannins and a long, seamless finish.

If you want to taste what a true master of Bordeaux can do without spending hundreds of dollars a single bottle, this is your chance. It is perfect for your next steak dinner, a cozy night in, or laying down in the cellar for a few more years.
