The Story: French for "lip-stinger," Picpoul is one of the country's oldest varietals, and the like-named appellation of Picpoul de Pinet covers about 3,000 acres just off the coast of the Mediterranean. It is famous for two things: oysters and this wine of origin, Picpoul. Bursting with the vibrancy and minerality that are the hallmarks of the region, this wine is produced at the local cooperative in the village of Florensac. It is sourced from 40 acres of their best vineyards, planted on predominately clay and limestone soil. 

 Why You’ll Love Me: There are intense aromas of fresh lemons intertwined with a green olive brininess and a subtle whiff of white flowers. The palate is electrifying! Flavors of yellow grapefruit, snappy fennel, and white pepper are embraced by a beautiful combination of delicate minerality and lively acidity.
