I am from: Portugal (Vinho de Portugal).

The Story: Crafted by Vicente Faria Vinhos, an acclaimed house with deep historical roots in the rugged Douro Valley, Lolita is a deliberate rebellion against the idea that European wine must be stuffy, overly complicated, or tucked away in a cellar for a decade. While Portugal is world-famous for its dense, intensely muscular reds and sweet, heavy Ports, the winemaking team envisioned a bottle designed purely for immediate, everyday pleasure. Striking a beautiful balance between traditional heritage and modern, sustainable viticulture, they brought together four of the country’s most celebrated native grapes. Rather than masking the juice in heavy, smoky new oak, the fruit is treated gently with just a brief, subtle kiss of wood aging. The result is a highly expressive, low-intervention red that strips away the formality to deliver raw, sun-drenched Atlantic-Mediterranean energy straight to your glass.

Why You'll Love Me: It is wonderfully bright, smooth, and effortless, playfully bridging the gap between lush, juicy berry fruits and a sophisticated, savory edge. It pours a clean, luminous ruby color in the glass. The nose is highly aromatic and instantly inviting, bursting with a vibrant basket of dark wild berries, fresh red cherries, and ripe strawberries, beautifully interwoven with subtle notes of cracked black pepper, sweet baking spices, and a whisper of cedar box. On the palate, it hits with a supple, medium-bodied frame and a remarkably soft, rounded mouthfeel. Barely-there, velvety tannins allow the pure core of crunchy cranberry and plum fruit to dance freely across the tongue, supported by a refreshing undercurrent of natural acidity before sailing into a clean, juicy finish marked by a faint touch of chocolate and a lingering, spicy snap.
