Josef & Philipp Brundlmayer 2023 Kamptal Zweigelt Langloiser Rosé
Pairs with: Summer appetizers
Good for: A warm day anywhere in the world
Grape: Zweigelt, Sankt Laurent, Blauberger
I am from: Lower Austria
The Story: It hasn’t been that long since Philipp Brundlmayer took the reins of the family winery from his father Josef. Josef started out in 1980 with not much more than his hands and a passion for wine. Philipp had the luxury of inheriting 18 hectares scattered over 52 plots: mainly Gruner Veltliner, and many of them the top sites in the Krems Valley. Most of their sites are on the rich loess terraces of the two villages of Gedersdorf and Rohrendorf. Philipp doesn’t use insecticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers. A lot of the vineyard work is done manually. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand. Every single vineyard is vinified separately in order to mirror the terroir and its differences as precisely as possible.
Why You’ll Love Me: Delicate and tart, brimming with fresh berry flavors from Zweigelt, Austria's leading red varietal, with Sankt Laurent adding to its aromatic profile. Vibrant and with a hint of minerality, let this be a go-to sipper this summer!
