Discover Lydia’s expert wine picks—from budget-friendly bubbles to biodynamic beauties—and learn why locals love her curated tastes and warm hospitality at VinoDiVino Brookline.

If you've ever wandered into our Brookline location, chances are you've already met Lydia — our store manager, wine educator, and resident champion of all things delicious and unexpected. With a deep love for small producers, thoughtful pairings, and stories behind every label, Lydia curates our Brookline shelves with intention and heart.

We asked her to share a few of her current favorites — and in true Lydia fashion, she delivered with personality, passion, and zero pretense. Below are three wines she's loving right now — straight from the source, in her own words.

Wine 1:

Monzio Compagnoni Franciacorta Brut Saten Millesimato

Who has the money for regular Champagne purchases? Not I. Luckily, there is Franciacorta, the traditional method from Italy. This beautiful sparkling has notes of lemon curd, orchard fruit, & subtle brioche flavors.

Wine 2:

Occhipinti SP 68 Bianco 2023

A stunning example of organic & biodynamic small-scale production. Arianna Occhipinti has made a refreshingly dry but aromatic Sicilian white that has a little skin contact & sings with seafood.

Wine 3:

Domaine de Piaugier Cotes du Rhone Villages AOC Sablet 'Tenebi' La Counoise 2022

This wine is made from 100% Counoise, usually a blending grape in Rhone. Until 1991, the Counoise grapes from this vineyard were being sold to Chateau Beaucastel, but the family decided to bottle themselves, and to great effect! Notes of rose, musk, mocha, boysenberry, & pepper. Serve slightly chilled!

Whether you're just beginning your wine journey or hunting down hidden gems, Lydia brings a personal, welcoming touch to every bottle she recommends.
