The Story: Winemaker Tinashe moved his way through the restaurant world to become top sommelier at the Test Kitchen in Cape Town, which was named the best restaurant in Africa and one of the top 50 restaurants in the world. In 2020 Tinashe left to primarily focus on Kumusha wines. The grapes are planted in mineral rich soils, high in organic matter. The vines are happy and are picked in the early hours of the morning and treated reductively to preserve freshness and protect the aromatics from the very start of the process. Spontaneous fermentation and maturation on the lees for 4 months in stainless steel tanks.
Why You’ll Love Me: Vibrant, zippy, and fresh, with ripe tropical fruit and citrus as well as notes of melon, passion fruit and guava. Tinashe notes a hint of Gaka, a Zimbabwean fruit similar to honeydew melon.
