Pairs with: Spinach and goat cheese tarts

Good for: Summer picnics on grassy riverbanks

Feels like: A smooth river stone, still cool from the water

Grape: Pinot Noir

I am from: Sancerre, Loire Valley, France

The story! After three centuries' experience, the Raimbault-Pineau family have mastered the art of winemaking. While Sancerre Blanc may be the most famous, the region's Pinot Noir rosés and reds deliver the same stunning mineral structure, combined with intriguingly deep fruit.

In your mouth: My mineral structure is limestone in a summer rain. Notes of wild strawberry and juicy cherry follow a deeply perfumed nose, playing amid the droplets. I finish long, slow, and smooth, a sigh of crushed raspberries and lemon zest.
