Earlier this week, we tasted a wonderful French Merlot at vinodivino Boston. This was nothing like the popular perception of Merlot, often portrayed as flabby. Domaine de la Patience was light and very fresh, with a crisp herbal quality. Layered over that were ripe plum and blackberry notes. This is the way Merlot should taste!
Located in the Costières de Nîmes, the winery takes its name from a wild aromatic herb called “la Patience” that can be found growing throughout the vineyard. The winery is also certified organic. This is one of our favorite “house reds” to have open on weeknights. Made in a crowd-pleasing style, this bottle also has the complexity that allows you to sit with it and contemplate the wine in your glass.
