I am from: Western Cape, South Africa
The story: New Zealand isn’t the only country in the southern hemisphere that knows how to make good Sauvignon Blanc.Jaco Potgieter, winemaker for Douglas Green is a master of crafting great Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is full of big fruits, a bit more intense than New Zealand, but still an awfully good time.
In your mouth: Loads of ripe citrus fruits such as lemon and nectarine hit the palate from the first sip. I only get better from there — frisky and fresh notes of pineapple and gooseberry make me come alive. I'm a joy on my own and have plenty of refreshing acidity.
