The story!Andrew Rich started off as a wine column expert until he felt the call to go to Burgundy to actually make wine. Soon enough he moved out to Oregon where he wanted to make Rhone-style wines like Syrah, Grenache etc. He excelled! Where he really has made his mark on the winemaking was with Pinot Noir (I know this isn't Pinot). This is his latest experiment and it. Is. Stunning.
In your mouth: This wine is boisterous & busy. Loads of dark fruit interlaced with tantalizing blueberry. Theres a wee bit of wood spice and black pepper yet both of those are seamless with the silky, oaky backbone. There is a hint of syrah that gives the wine a very fragrant nose. Crowd pleasing? Yes. Complex? Yes.
