The story! The Vigouroux family has been making wine in Cahors since 1887, and their famed 'black wines' have stood the test of time. Cahors is actually the birthplace of Malbec, though it didn't become widely popular till it reached Argentina. French Malbec is markedly earthier and a little lighter than its Argentine counterpart. If you're unfamiliar with the style, this bottle is a great introduction to Cahors.
In your mouth: Ripe red fruit and dark berries burst forth from the glass, followed by my sultry, savory finish. Strong tannins round me out and make me a perfect match for any grilled red meat.
