The story! New Zealand winemaker Nick Goldschmidt is irreverent and hilarious; he's done and seen it all and has strong opinions. He comes to visit us once a year, and recently told us the story of the Singing Tree. He always wanted to make a "proper Chardonnay," — it's been nagging him for years, just like the birds on the tree outside his bedroom (which drive him crazy). He's finally done it, and the wine is delicious.
In your mouth: I'm a cool climate Chardonnay; I'm not overripe, in fact, I'm kind of racy... I never want to become tiresome after just one glass so I'm purposefully playful. I flirt with my vanilla and caramel notes. I'm confident I'm going to win your affection whether you're a Chard enthusiast or skeptic.
