A sweeter sense of black raspberry fruit -- though no less vividly tart skin or crunchy seediness...is projected by Burgaud's 2010 Regnie Vallieres than was found in the corresponding Beaujolais-Villages. And as with that wine, a saline streak serves for saliva inducement while quickening vivacity is delivered along with a silken texture. Rich nut oils; pungently resinous herbs; and crushed stone add to the finishing complexity of this excellent value that should be worth revisiting over the next several years.
