The 2006 Juan Rojo is 100% Tempranillo from 80+-year-old vines aged for 8 months in French oak. It delivers a superb bouquet of lightly roasted herbs, espresso, lavender, incense, black cherry, blackberry, and dark chocolate. This leads to a rich, succulent, seamless wine that manages to conceal enough structure for another 2-3 years of evolution. This lengthy effort will be at its best from 2012 to 2020. It is a killer value. Jay Miller, April 2010
